Eric Wei, MD, MBA is an emergency medicine physician, rotating through all 11 Eds in NYC Health + Hospitals. Eric serves as executive sponsor of the ExpressCare service line and is Senior Vice President and Chief Quality Officer, focused on fostering a culture of safety, building quality improvement capacity, and becoming a data driven, high reliability organization. Eric also leads care experience, staff wellness, high value care, arts in medicine, spiritual care, data governance and analytics, emergency management, hospital police and security, and the Helping Healers Heal (H3) program.

Erfan Karim, MPH serves as the Executive Director of the ExpressCare service line, leading a 300-member team. Erfan serves as an Assistant Vice President for Mobile Integrated Health (MIH) focusing on bringing care to homes and communities. Erfan’s entrepreneurial spirit allowed to launch multiple successful startups.

Shaw Natsui, MD MPA is an emergency medicine physician with a background in social and urban policy. Shaw is ExpressCare Medical Director and the Assistant Vice President for Emergency Services, covering all 11 EDs and Hospital Police and Security. Prior to medicine, he led a public service nonprofit and directed a community health center.

Christopher Philippou, MPH serves as the Chief Operating Officer of the ExpressCare service line. Chris serves as Senior Director of Strategic Operations & Development, also leading violence interruption programming and efforts to transform the NYC 911/EMS system as liaison to FDNY.

Nisha Sunny, MBA serves as the Director of ExpressCare – monitoring the service line through detailed implementation and coordination of quality improvement efforts. Prior to this role, she assisted the system’s COVID-19 response through Test & Trace by managing testing sites throughout the five boroughs.
